Recipe Description
Idly Mix to prepare hot hot Idly.
Main Ingredients
Idly Rava and Urad Dhal
Ingredients

  • 1 cup Urad Dhal
  • 2 cups Idly Rava
  • 1 cup cooked Rice
  • pinch of soda-bi-carb(Baking Soda)
  • 1 tbsp Fenugreek Seeds (Menthulu, Methi)
Preparation
  • Soak Urud Dhal and the Fenugreek(methi) seeds together in a bowl over 6 hours.
  • Wash and grind Urud Dhal, methi Seeds,1 cup Cooked Rice in to fine smooth paste add little water while grinding.
  • Wash Rava and mix it in Urad Dhal paste
  • Allow it to ferment overnight.
  • If people in cold climates: if you have an oven, just turn the oven light on and leave the vessel in the oven, or if you have a stove with a pilot light, keep the vessel over the pilot light.
  • The next day, stir the batter well to make sure it should not be too thick and add salt.
  • Then make idlys in the idly steamer. Steam it on high flame for 10 minutes
Hot Hot idlys are ready to eat.
