Soft Chapathi (Indian Wheat Bread )

Recipe Description
Soft Chapathi's made with Wheat Flour and can eat with any Roti Subji's.
Main Ingredients
Wheat Flour
Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Wheat Flour(For 5 Chapathi's)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • Salt to taste
Preparation
Tips To Prepare Soft Chapathi

  • Dough should be little soft,should not too hard.
  • Leave dough for 1/2 hr before preparing Chapathi's.
  • To fry Chapathi's, Tava should be very hot.
  • Don't fry Chapathi's in low flame.
  • Store Chapthi's in bowl with Closed lid,that keeps chapatih's fresh and soft.

Preparing Dough For Soft Chapathi's
  • Take Wheat flour in bowl.
  • Put 2 tbsp Ghee in Flour mix it untill no lumps.
  • put Water,salt in flour mix it in circular motion(Easy mixing) until it is mixed properly.
  • Keep Dough for 1/2 hour in bowl with closed lid,ready to prepare Chepathi's.
Preparing Soft Chapathi's
  • Make Dough in to Lemon size balls
  • Take one ball press it like small disc,roll the dough with roller in circle shape.
  • When rolling if dough is sticking to roller,spread some wheat flour over dough.
  • Chapathi's should not be too thin made it little thick so that it puff's nicely.
  • Once rolling Chepathi's over,ready to fry.
Frying Chapathi's (Frying Chepathi also matters....)
  • Heat Tava on high flame.
  • Place chepathi on Tava.
  • Once Chepathi puff's up on one side,then turn to other side fry for 2 mins.
If you like to use oil..........
  • Don't add oil when started fry chapathi's.
  • Just Spread or apply oil with Spoon on top of Chapathi's once it is fried fully.
Hot Hot Chepathi's are ready to eat with any Roti Subji's.

I didn't know Chepathi was so easy to make. Forget buying the frozen ones I I can simply whip out a batch.

Hi Van,

Preparing Chepathi is really easy...we can add chopped spinach or grated carrot or grated potato or chopped Onions or Cumin seeds to chepathi dough to get more taste try it like this....
