Birakaya Pappu (Ridge Gourd pappu)

Recipe Description
Andhra style Delicious curry made of Ridge Gourd(Birakaya) and Toor Dhal(Kandi pappu) and can eat with Rice or Roti.
Main Ingredients
Ridge Gourd ,Toor Dhal.

Ingredients
  • Ridge Gourd
  • 1 cup Kandi pappu(Toor dhal)
  • 1 Tomato
  • 3 Green Chillis
  • 1 pinch Turmeric
  • little Tamarind
  • Salt
  • 1 small Onion
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coreinder leaves
  • 1 tbsp Channa dhal
  • 1 tbsp Urad dhal
Preparation
  • Cook Toor dhal,Tomato,Gree Chilli,Ridge Gourd pieces,Turmeric in to 2 ,3 cups of water until soft.
  • Then add salt and Tamarind again cook mixture for 5min.
  • Mix it well it should be like a paste
  • Season with oil,Mustard seeds,Channa dhal,Urad dhal,Curry leaves and Onions and cook for 2mins.
  • Garnish with Coriander leaves,fried Onions,Tomatoes and curry leaves.
Tasty Birakai pappu ready to eat with Rice or Roti.
