Recipe Description
Delicious Liquid curry made with Toor Dhal,Tomatoes,Tamarind can eat with Rice,Dosa,Idly.

Main Ingredients
Toor Dhal,Tomatoes,Tamarind.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Toor Dhal
  • 3 Green Chillis
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tbsp Sambar Powder
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • Curry Leaves
  • Chopped Vegetables
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Mustrad seeds
  • Tamarind pulp
  • 1/4 tbsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Chana Dhal
  • 1 tbsp Urad Dhal
  • Chopped Coriander leaves

  • Vegetables Good in Sambar
  • Carrot Slices
  • Drumsticks pieces
  • Raw Mango pieces
  • Egg Plant Slices(Optional)
  • ladies Finger Slices(Optional)
  • Dosakaya(Cucumber)
  • Radish

  • All the above vegetables are good in sambar.Drumsticks,Mango,Cucumber adds more taste.

Preparation
  • Cook Toor Dhal in water untill it becomes smooth paste.
  • Heat 3 tbsp of oil in pan over medium heat.
  • Place Mustrad seeds,Cumin seeds,Chooped Green Chillis,Curry leaves,Channa Dhal,Urad Dhal fry it.
  • Place Onions,salt fry untill onions turn golden brown color.
  • Place Tomatoes,Turmeric fry it untill no lumps.
  • Place all chopped vegetables cook untill it is cooked.
  • Add Turmeric pulp,Cooked Toor Dhal,Sambar powder,water cook it for 15min.
  • Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
Tasty Sambar is ready to eat with Rice ,Dosa or Idly.
